How to Celebrate Devshayani Ekadashi in Dubai
- Sankalp: Wake up during Brahma Muhurat, take a holy bath, and take a pledge to keep a sincere fast.
- Lord Vishnu Puja: Decorate the idol of Lord Vishnu with yellow flowers, sandalwood paste, and offer Tulsi leaves (essential).
- Bhajan & Kirtan: Spend the evening chanting "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya."
- Charity: In Dubai, donating food or clothes to those in need is highly meritorious on this day.
Do's and Don'ts (Vrat Rules)
What to Do:
- Maintain celibacy (Brahmacharya).
- Eat only Satvik food if not observing a full waterless fast.
- Keep a lamp (Diya) lit near the Tulsi plant.
What Not to Do:
- Avoid Grains: Strictly do not consume rice or lentils (Dal).
- Avoid plucking Tulsi leaves on the day of Ekadashi (pluck them a day prior).
- Avoid anger, greed, and harsh speech.
